How Much Is A Billion, Really?

Friday nights Mega Millions drawing is nearly $1 billion. Let’s get a little perspective.

1 Billion one dollar bills stacked one on top of the other is 67.9 miles high. Which is nearly the distance from San Antonio to Austin. If I was stuck on a highway made of a billion dollars cash I don’t think I’d mind the traffic.

If you’re craving Chicken-On-A-Stick, using your 1 billion dollars you could buy more than 100 million of them during Fiesta. Please don’t though. The lines are already long enough.

If you wanted to hide all your money, 1 billion one dollar bills would fill up the inside of 2,631 King-sized mattresses. Bills are 6.14 x 2.61 inches and take 1,000 to stack 10 inches high. Average King-size mattress is 76 x 80 inches and 10 inches thick. I’m pretty sure I did the math correctly. But even if I’m wrong, that’s a lot of mattresses full of cash.

1 Billion oranges would fill a football stadium all the way to the top. If you win I’d suggest trying it at the Orange Bowl.

Good luck! 1 billion anything is a lot. I’d be happy to help you do whatever you want with it.
