Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce and the NFL, A Love Story

I’ll be honest, I’m not a sports guy. I don’t get excited to watch one team try and stop the other team from putting a ball in a certain part of the playing area. I know, it’s weird. Seemingly most people have at least one sport they love. A team of people they cheer for and buy products with there names on them. A group of individuals fighting for victory. A group of people they care so deeply for that if they perform poorly one afternoon and lose the game, that fan will actually be put into a terrible mood for the rest of the evening.

Again, not me.

But when Taylor Swift started showing up at Kansas City Chiefs games, all of a sudden it started getting interesting. What was she wearing, who was she sitting with and what snacks would she eat? Now all of this was coming in the middle of a massive world tour. It wasn’t easy for her to make it to her boyfriends games. Which is one thing I’m sure she causally mentioned to Mr. and Mrs. Kelce inside those very fancy and very expensive suites at Arrowhead. Yes, somehow I did know the name of the stadium without having to look it up. I think I saw N’SYNC play there back in the day.

Of course the big question was... WILL SHE DO HALFTIME AT THE BIG GAME? Sadly, no. Not last year and unless Kendrick Lamar choses her as a special guest we won’t get her this year either.

So what do we expect for this season? I guess time will tell. The NFL was curious what the players were thinking. So the question was asked about how they feel having Taylor around. According to an anonymous poll, 72.5% of NFL players think Taylor Swift’s presence at games has been positive for the league. I would agree. At the very least it got me to write an entire article about sports and you know my interest level at this point. Anyway, only 4.9% think Taylor has been negative. I can only assume those 4.9% of players have close relationships with her former boyfriends and its all about the Bro Code. I mean who doesn’t like Taylor Swift? Finally 22.5% say it had no effect. That last group of players is either full of non-Swifties, or just doesn’t have teenage daughters at home.

In closing, go team Taylor.
